Software Ideas Modeler is a full-featured CASE tool that supports all 14 types of UML 2.5 diagrams. Building a complete UML diagram in this software involves a structured workflow, starting from initial canvas setup to defining detailed elements, attributes, and relationships. Step 1: Initialize the Project and Canvas
To begin building your diagram, you must first create a project and select the appropriate UML type:
Start a New Project: Open the software and click the Create New Project button on the start page.
Add a New Diagram: Navigate to the Project or Insert ribbon tab and click Add New Diagram. Alternately, use the shortcut CTRL+SHIFT+D.
Filter by UML Group: In the dialog box, expand the UML category. Select your desired diagram type (e.g., Class, Sequence, Activity, or Package Diagram).
Name Your Diagram: Provide a descriptive name in the text box and click OK to open the canvas. Step 2: Populate Elements and Model Objects
Once the canvas is open, use the toolbox on the left side of the window to add your core structural or behavioral elements:
Drag-and-Drop Method: Click on an element tool (such as a Class, Actor, Node, or Package) and drag it onto the canvas.
Canvas Click Method: Click a tool in the toolbox, then click anywhere on the canvas to place it with default dimensions.
Multi-Insert Mode: Double-click any element tool in the toolbox to lock it. This allows you to rapidly click the canvas multiple times to insert several instances of that element without re-selecting the tool. Step 3: Configure Detailed Properties
